Neuromancer

Post by Jotun »

FINALLY! They are putting the genre defining novel to film! It "only" took 42 years...

Looks great at first glance. Molly especially.
Some dolts are (of course) are complaining it looks too clean, but a) a lot of the novel plays in corporations and IN SPAAAAACE, and b) I think there is a bit of Blade Runner imagery doing its thing in their minds...

Great book. Funnily enough Bill Gibson knew little about computers when he wrote it.

Back then, it was easier to fake it, I guess.

I could never get into the book. I remember back during my first time at university how my criticism of the notion of a Rastafarian space colony caused outrage; considering the combination of ritualistic smoking of cannabis with orbital space stations to be silly and immersion breaking was apparently too awful for words.

I know I've read it (it's been a while), but my brain keeps conflating Neuromancer and Snow Crash

Maybe if I ever had time to watch stuff it might be worth a subscription for a little while...
