Campaign 2024 is officially in the books: President Rick Scott has won reelection over Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) Gov. Tim Walz (MN) was her VP nominee. She did defeat SF Mayor Gavin Newsom and Sen. Bill DeBlasio (NY) in the primaries.
President Scott said in his victory speech that he will not be running in 2028, though he would be eligible to do so under the 22nd Amendment. "A term and three-quarters is enough."
Will VP Mike Lee (Former Senator from UT) run in '28? We'll see.

If a VP serves more than two years of the President's term after moving up, it counts as a full term.

With the last of the absentee ballots counted in Bannock County this morning and the results certified by the County Voting Registrar's Office, it is now official: Deputy Sheriff Kelly Ray is now the Sheriff-elect of Bannock County. She won 68% of the vote in a three-way field that included a carpetbagger from Boise (as in he moved to Inkom solely for running from Sheriff after losing in Canyon County) and a forensics guy from the state crime lab.

Goalie and I offered our congratulations as soon as we heard. Now, at Hill, the 419's CO parking slot will have a Sheriff's Cruiser (usually a monster Ford Expedition) parked on Reserve Weekends.
