Re: NASA Eyes Plan to Get Boeing Back on Track as SpaceX Alternative
They're rolling the SLS back to the VAB, because they can't load helium into something on an upper stage. That pretty much rules out March for launch. Hopefully, there are some NASA administrators having tea and explaining things to Isaacman. Sans Jaffa cakes. Too bad he can't just take the approac...

Re: NASA Eyes Plan to Get Boeing Back on Track as SpaceX Alternative
New NASA Administrator Isaacman didn't pull any punches with Boeing and NASA. The incident has been designated as a Type A mishap. Originally no mishap had been declared because of concern over the Starliner's program reputation. I wouldn't be surprised if some NASA Administrators are asked to resi...

OK, Episode 5 was a home run.
"Series Acclimation Mil" was a great tie-in to DS9, a bit of an ignored series. Enjoyed how they tied it in to SAM's growth. And at some point, they're going to explore the Doctor's ongoing emotional issues. He's lived with loss for nine centuries.

One of the antiarmor loads that the 335th carried: this one doesn't have AIM-9 on the inboard pylon missile rails, but I have seen loads that do have the 6x Mark-20 Rockeye (or other CBUs) and the Sidewinders. This bird does have the ECM pod and should have the two AIM-7s in the aft missile wells. ...

If they want to keep Marinette going, the Multi-Mission Surface Combatant based on the Freedom-class LCS is probably the way to go.

Give them time. Sooner or later the rest of Mexico will go up in smoke and someone will need to put it back together. Any update on the Security Zone? The last I heard about it was when you no longer needed to dial the Mexico Country code from the US, instead you dialed 1 (US / Canada Country Code)...

Although I add for the record that Wichita is hosting the most postwar American event I can possibly think of . . . A Monster LAV competition. Take a surplus LAV-25, strip the armor, screw with the engine and the transmission to have insane power and gear ratios, make a colorful shell . . . and dri...

BEHOLD! British Combat and Support Aircraft BAE Harrier T.8N. * Nine two-seat Harrier T.4s were upgraded to the same standard as the FA.2, albeit lacking the radar, though they had the requisite cockpit instrumentation, and could provide synthetic radar data. To act as a force-multiplier the T.8Ns ...

Re: Royal Navy Order Of Battle
I'd expect more new-builds of the FRS.2/FA/2, simply because of a longer Cold War. Maybe a joint wing of FA.2 and GR.9s, even. But how many more is the question. * The RN has three Invincible class ships. * Each carries up to 22 aircraft. * In @, typical post-Falklands air group was three AEW Sea K...

So somebody want to know over at the other place, what the Queen Elizabeth's planned airwing is going to be while operating Sea Harriers and Harrier GR9s prior to the JSF coming into service ? I'll say here what I said there. I suppose that depends on how many Sea Harriers and GR9s survive the war....

Was watching one of Drachinifels' Drydock episodes the other night, and he was asked about how certain ships' names came to be legendary. His example was Enterprise - there had been six ships with that name in the USN before CV-6 was commissioned, and although they served well and did their jobs, t...
