Remember the Koni FF that was found adrift with the entire crew missing except for the cat?
Apparently, the director of ONI sent a Polaroid of the cat, lounging on the bridge chart table like the ship is his personal yacht, to General Samuel Eliot Morison Lodge with a letter asking, "Is he yours?"
Lodge's answer: "Haven't seen a travel claim from him, so probably not."

Even when I had a clearance, it wasn't high enough for me to know he had one, let alone to look at it.

Re: General Discussion Thread
The existence of his Rolodex was an open secret. The contents of said Rolodex, however, were a different story…

We're not going to invade Venezuela over this. Maduro has to be more of a pest-like invading the Dutch Caribbean Islands, say, before we start pulling triggers. Now, mining the shipping channel into the oil terminal at Maricaibo and on the Mexican side at Vera Cruz, OTOH.... Different story.
The difference between diplomacy and war is this: Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell so elegantly that they pack for the trip.
War is bringing hell down on that someone.
War is bringing hell down on that someone.

Do not think the US Navy presence is there, i recall somebody saying it was to stop Venezuela from using its Ghost fleet from transporting Oil/Drugs and weapons to and from Mexico and Iran and other unfriendly countries.Matt Wiser wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 7:46 am We're not going to invade Venezuela over this. Vera Cruz isn't part of the Security Zone. It was seized more as a bargaining chip and give the Mexicans an impression it was 1847 and Scott's campaign all over again.Wolfman wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 11:19 amI thought we took Vera Cruz back during the Baja War…Matt Wiser wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 7:46 am We're not going to invade Venezuela over this. Give them time. Any update on the Security Zone? The last I heard about it was when you no longer needed to dial the Mexico Country code from the US, instead you dialed 1 (US / Canada Country Code).

They want everyone graduating high school in 2040 and beyond to be fully fluent in both English and Spanish. (Right now, it's at 41%.)

Pretty sure that by 2040 what is today the Security Zone will have formally become part of the USA.
