...A 1/25 scale, new-mold 1964 Aston Martin DB5.

With the Q Branch mods.

To kinda put this in perspective - there were models of the Q DB-5 almost immediately after Goldfinger came out (one licensed from Airfix which was kinda meh, and a ripoff from Aurora that really wasn't any better), but they disappeared not long afterwards. Doyusha of Japan did a lovely Q DB5 some years ago, but licensing issues (read as: they didn't have one ) put it out of production fairly quickly though it can still be found online for hideous prices. RoG itself had a Q DB5 planned some years ago - not clear if this is the same one - and Aston Martin scuppered that one with utterly insane licensing fee demands, which have clearly changed.

Amazing what a few years since of iffy business decisions will do for your point of view when it comes to people offering to give you money.

Anyways, this is going to be fun. Stay tuned....

A Tamiya one would be interesting - I always had a soft spot for Tamiya models (my first was Yamato! A bit much for someone just started on serious modelling.

....Tamiya these days is pretty much the gold standard. I've got a few of their kits in the stash - Do335, Me109E, A1E, He219, and an F-16CJ, all in pipefitter scale - I mean, 1/48 and one of these days I need to pull one of them down. Their P-38s and F-35 are beyond amazing.

I have in 1/48 an F-16A, an A-10A and an F-15E, still in boxes plus a number of 1/700 WW2 BBs (including Washington of course).

Tamiya has a 1/24 MX-5 ND kit I might get. I don't know if it is an ND1 or a ND2 and it would be hard to get the red right - both my ND1 and current ND2 are red...
