Sigh...

Post by Poohbah »

As if I don't have enough trouble in my life, my wife is now being treated for cellulitis and pneumonia, and I sprained my ankle visiting her today.

Fuggery buck.

My condolences, and my wishes that you heal up quickly. And your lady wife, as well.

Mr. P, sounds silly but, if you do not have current decadal pneumonia vaccination, I suggest acquisition ASAP.

First, hospital may otherwise bar you from all but phone calls.

Second, you are at enhanced risk of catching her's or a 'hospital' strain...

I had 'current' vaccination, but was so debilitated by caring for my wife prior to her going into hospital with pneumonia that I got it 'both sides'. Generic GP/MD antibiotics, a few days of 'light duties' at home and I was back on my feet. Lungs sufficiently cleared, I was allowed to visit again...
If you cannot see the wood for the trees, deploy LIDAR.

Not just Mr. P.

Fortunately, we’re all getting older, and this have to be cognizant that we require greater maintenance and care. Even if we don’t feel much different than we did at 18, or even 35.

New update: it's a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Joy of joys.

Write a five page policy and procedure on how not to injure your ankle.

Times New Roman font, 10 point, single spaced, 0.25” margins.

That’ll teach you.

How many times do people have to be told “Dip thine entire child in the river Styx”?

Sorry to hear about that. Hope it gets better soon.

After discussing the pros and cons of surgery with the doctor, we are treating this conservatively, with my foot in a walking boot for the next 10-12 weeks, in three weeks we follow up and change out the wedge.

Poohbah,

Look at it this way - you now possess the ultimate weapon for kicking someone in the butt to get their attention... ;)

Not necessarily. Given his luck, he might break some toes.

Do NOT test this theory.

Started physical therapy last week. Making progress. They have me using a walker instead of the scooter (and the beautiful thing is, it's my wife's walker; she had the legs fully retracted, I have them fully extended), so I can terminate the scooter rental this weekend.

After my Mother's stroke, she got a wheeled stroller. One cousin put a bike horn on it. Funny thing, kids always asked before tooting it, adults never did.
