The lives of Augustus' descendants have been well examined, probably most notably for many of us in the BBC series I CLAVDIVS starring Derek Iacobi. Graves' books, on which this is based are excellent but frankly are a well written extrapolation from Tacitus' Annals of Imperial Rome, and Suetonius.
So here's a new one, never heard of this bloke, prolific as he is. This book should really be called Agrippina the Younger, since the the brat Nero is just born and then up to 5 years old in this first part. Iggulden messes about with history a bit, I don't know why really, life is confusing enough as it is. Anyway well written and fun if you like that sort of thing. Clavdivs comes across as less bumbling and far more ruthless than Graves' version.
