IIRC, Mt. St.Helens is significantly offset, 'out of line' from the other Cascade Cones.
Thought due to anomaly of plate subduction.
Perhaps a split in descending Farallon plate...
Isn't something similar thought responsible for geo-oddities of Vesuvius and the scarily un-quiet 'complex' around Naples ??
