So we have some business types here...

Post by Kunkmiester »

SCORE, SBDC, or Michigan FIRST for a mentor? One of my goals this year is to get business plans going on things that have been bouncing around my head for a while, mostly the fixturing system I'm working on. I'm working on RFQs, but not sure about being able to do traditional payment options while starting out.

Is this your own business you’re looking to set up? Do you have RFI/ RFP/ RFQ templates & standard forms?

My own business, I've got a draft RFQ I was planning on trying with my own company, mostly for practice.

I've done some business planning for some other stuff and have some preliminary material for this.

If you get around to an IPO, I know a thing or two about stock exchanges
I work for a six letter exchange group that has a big sign at Times Square

There’s an art to these things and half of it is ensuring that you’re asking for the right things to be quoted in the first place, hence starting with an RFP or even RFI.

Very happy to help if you like.

I wouldn't mind, what info do you need? I've reached out to one somewhat local shop, haven't heard back yet. I have a pitch deck type thing, but since it would be best for me to have more of a partner than simply a contractor just making parts, I'm not sure how to approach stuff.

I'm not planning an IPO for anything ever. Most of my ideas are small (though many and varied) and not worth that much I think, assuming I want the loss of control anyway.

Drop me a PM, the first thing you need is a watertight non-disclosure agreement!
