OOC Thread

Post by Matt Wiser »

This one's for OOC comments. Please keep them civil.
The difference between diplomacy and war is this: Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell so elegantly that they pack for the trip.
War is bringing hell down on that someone.

Could someone post any maps they have on how the war went or furthest the bad guys got, etc? I was never able to find them on the previous boards.

Seems AH.com had now a picture thread called: Images Of Kara's First Day: Pictures Of Red Dawn's WW3 And The Aftermath.

Well at least Matt Wiser can now say he has a thread on AH.com named after one of his stories.

They discovered that one does not simply walk into the Everglades, unless you have a burning desire to become gator poop.

And then they met...

I was reading Walk Around Space Shuttle and learned that the orbiter Atlantis’ first flight was October 3, 1985, anyone want to bet that the SCA was escorted from Palmdale to the KSC (especially since we already made it canon that there was a CAP there, especially for the launches), ITTL?

Shooting down the SCA with an Orbiter would have probably been an instant Hero of the Soviet Union award (or the equivalent) for the enemy pilot who got the kill…

Atlantis made the flight to KSC prewar. Delivery to NASA and the trip to KSC was in April of '85

Can someone repost the Soviet Motor Rifle Platoon diagram showing organization and dismount strength?

2x PKMs per squad? Oof.

Most of the structures I have found showed 1 PKM per squad. For future reference, what’s your source?

I am assuming Platoon HQ was just the Lieutenant?

My guess is that there is a two-person team on the PKM.

Adding it up, the squad leader, four rifleman (or three and a lieutenant), the anti-tank gunner, and the two-person MG team is 8, the capacity of a BMP, whether it's a 1, 2, or 3. The first squad gets a little more crowded with the addition of the SVD gunner.
