Re: Bookshelves
Yes, yes, yes...
Spent much of yesterday jig-sawing second re-purposed 'conti' side-plank from a dismantled narrow bookshelf into five palm-wide strips. These now deepen 'ladder-rack' shelves to allow 'double parking'.
They lack the proprietary shelves' custom router slots to engage with 'ladders', so I loosely screwed a small, 2-hole 'mending strip' onto each end as a 'gravity latch' against traffic vibration's creep...
==
FWIW, the first side-plank became top-covers with ~20mm stand-offs on my two big PCs' cases. I did not mind brushing basking cats' hair from the top grilles, but one unfortunate feline up-chucked severely. Fortunately, she missed case, but I never did get stain out of beige carpet...
This is 'Box', my network-render system: The front overhang is well supported by several rubber door-stops plus packing.
Note corners' kiddy-bumpers to thwart their attempts to bite my legs ??

Re: Bookshelves
That cartoon is sort of right, I do wonder given that most of our bookshelves are 2 deep, whether either of us will ever re-read The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo etc, and the chances of me picking up a Danielle Steele bodice ripper seems small. Next move...

Re: Bookshelves
I used to dump a bag of 'Never read again' books on charity table at my local bank branch each time I visited.
Then, Covid.
Reduced hours, auto-tellers almost exclusively, charity table removed due fear of contamination.
Post-Covid, people had learned to manage without bank branch. So, it closed...

Re: Bookshelves
Funny, we just started unpacking books after a short move, making somewhat similar piles. Unread, don't want in the house, and trying to sort which are down far enough for kids to get to.
