Although for other businesses this might have been quite negative as PR goes, but in his case it’s somehow remarkably on brand.

Certainly can’t say they’re indifferent about the safety of their customers.

Brutal honesty as a PR move. It'll never catch on.

It is refreshing to see a company say, "We fucked up. Here's how we're fixing it." It'd be better if it wasn't someone from whom this straightforwardness could be expected.

For the want of a logical horse-shoe nail...

Speaking of brutal honesty, he has a fun you-tube of his epic adventure to recharge his Tesla after the car battery went flat during long Covid lay-up...

Not the very big 'motive' battery, mind, as was plugged into wall charge-point, but the small, 'trad' all-the-rest one. Undersized, of course, of course, as does not have to spin starter motor in mid-winter...

You would think that it would be trickle-charged automatically, but no. Tesla's coders over-looked this possibility. Soon as the 'motive' battery first reached capacity, the 'car' battery stopped taking 'regular' charge, but did not re-start charging when its voltage dropped, dropped, dropped...

Without which, he could not unlock car, open 'frunk' to access this battery etc etc etc.

So, there were a pair of 'rip-cords' hidden under rims of wheel arches, then a panel to remove, then another and another until you got to the 'ground' end of battery. Then another panel, then an air-con duct etc etc to get to the 'hot' end...

Finally, finally, he could affix trickle charger to perp, hope that control system BIOS had not locked-up or wiped itself...

As he said, soon as function restored, he was adding a remote feed-point for trickle-charging...

I suspect that he would have cheerfully sentenced those irresponsible coders & algorithm checkers to several days in his manor's Medieval stocks-- After they'd been tractor-dragged by their ankles around farm behind silage-spreader...
If you cannot see the wood for the trees, deploy LIDAR.
