So.

There have been a few reports today that Iran is seriously considering going after US bases in Kuwait.

On the ground.

Myself, I'm pretty sure this is yet another empty threat, for the following reasons:

The Kuwaitis alone could make the Iranians wish they'd never left home.

The US and the Gulf Council nations would have air dominance over the battlefield, which would make the Highway of Death look like a playground squabble.

Assuming of course that they could somehow assemble that much firepower and gear without being noticed.

And assuming the Iranian Army and/or IRGC would follow orders for what they know would be a death ride.

Not to mention that an Iranian invasion of Kuwait would end once and for all ANY chance of the GC nations having even polite relations with them again. Iranian troops on GC territory would have every single one of those nations calling publicly for the utter, complete, and final destruction of the theocracy.

And last - but far from least - do they really want to give Donald Trump the last excuse he would need to terminate them as a functioning country?

In all seriousness, I can see them cutting through Iraq and daring them to do something about it. There's enough Iranian catspaws' in Iraq that it might give the government pause.
