The last ten years or so seem to been fairly barren as far as pure comedies go, but this year we have seen a cautious return to the mid budgets movies I loved back in the day. Naked Gun was pretty good, although it's box office suggests it broke even roughly, but now we have Fackham Hall, which I honestly loved. Its classic British humor with a lot of influence from films like Airplane. The trailer is a pretty fair depiction of the movie, if you like the trailer you will like the movie. The actors ability to play absurdity completely straight really adds a lot. TONS of background jokes, I'll have to re-watch at home to catch them all.
One thing I liked about the movie is that in a very funny but not heavy handed way it shows just how much better we have it then people just 100 years ago, something easy to forget in the current climate. Check it out, comedies like this are actually best watched with a crowd.
