This one came up on my feed as well, but not being aware of the in-jokes of various YouTubers nor regarding guns as anything much more than tools, I don't really get it.

From what I can gather, that is something called a Hi Point carbine that is apparently pretty cruddy and cheap. In that case, it might well be a double joke (aside from falling at the first hurdle of a joke needing to be funny) as the first characteristic would not outweigh the second in the general fashion of modern British military procurement.

Now now. We never go for cheap as an initial characteristic. There is always a budget set that is clearly communicated to tenderers.

The cost creep due to scope creep due to mission creep is what leads to knee-jerk cost cutting further downstream of the process… EVERY TIME!

I liked one comment on the video that British troops are shaking in terror because somebody at the MOD will think this is a GREAT idea. :lol:
