Good ending.

Question, can duty end before grave?

Next winter, Sophie needs to talk to the Firm.

The Frantics reference was great. It’s almost like that entry was done by Mr Canoehead.

I wonder if The Firm gets caught up in a scandal due to a way overdue R&D program involving a high-tech cutting-edge helicopter known as The Lady.

According to Aviation Leak, it crashed during a test flight. Any reports of it being involved in dogfights over Libya and Russian air space are false.

Just like sightings in the southwest US are false.

Oddly enough... always tied to Santini Air.

Too bad, I bet that would be one sweet ride.

BTW, how is Adam going to take the Delta-Charlie zone? Good thing JP's has a VERY extensive presence.

I suspect that you’re going to be making a mint off of him…

Adam is probably the lowest stress guy you'd ever meet. His big thing is being a board member of the Special Forces Club in London, and serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the Lodge Foundation (their primary mission is preserving WW3 history via support to museums, an Oral History Program, stipends and grants to scholars, and they're building a research library in Wichita on Victory Plaza).

The only controversy in Adam's life is that Sophie doesn't exactly approve of the epigram Adam wants in the library atrium, apparently uttered by one of his fellow Air Commandos after the capture of Sergei Khvostov.
You know what you assholes don't get? We're not a fucking building! We're not a fucking flag! We're not just one man! Assholes like you have been trying to kill us for a long fucking time. But you know what? A thousand years from now, we'll still fucking be here!

I suspect that She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed will have the final word on that.

Honestly, it does represent a certain . . . mindset that is common among those of us who were enlisted personnel at any point during the war.

While it's not especially eloquent, it does reflect the passion we felt.
