The ship's CO got nicknamed "Marvin."

And everyone was wondering if they'd gotten one of the Katie nuclear rounds by accident.

Photo: aftermath of USS Massachusetts (BB-59) firing a 16-inch salvo into the LNG storage facility at Houston during GULF HAMMER, May, 1988.

Its was a miracle only 500 people died in the blast.

There is some dispute if this or the Texas City blast of 1947 was larger.

One picture of the Texas City blast.

A pity nobody informed the ALA unit that had been hiding there that those tanks were full…

You have to wonder if the Russian setup the ALA. If we didn't shoot at the tanks, they would have.

Yeah, the fuller the tanks are, the less strong the initial explosion would be. Starting cold, it would be liquid, and would pour out. Fires would get started, and there'd be a deflagration of fairly massive proportions, but to really get a big blast out of a liquid propane tank, it needs to be heated a great deal before structural integrity is lost, otherwise there's no additional driver for the propane to volatize and make the really explosive fuel air mixture.

I think....

The difference between diplomacy and war is this: Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell so elegantly that they pack for the trip.
War is bringing hell down on that someone.

They tried using similar improvised rocket launchers back in 2010 during the Baja War. Didn't turn out so well for the users....

Well it works against the rebels, for now, there are reports that some have gotten their hands on AA and AT missiles, wonder who supplied them, but then again the quote, The enemy of my enemy is my friend works here as it keeps the regime busy.

There’s at least one group down there where it’s ‘The Enemy of my Enemy is my Enemy’s Enemy, nothing more, nothing less’…

Rumor has it that the DOD's position is, "We kind of hoping everyone loses, and pass the popcorn." Same source is when one group loses too bad, the CIA drops money and equipment on them to keep the fighting going.

But EVERYONE hates the People's Santerist Liberation Front. Politics: Voodoo-Marxist, communal ownership of the spirit world. They have a penchant for getting wired on ice and dancer, so they're inhumanly fast (well, until their hearts blow out) AND clinically psychotic.
