Sorry, my Google-fu hath failed, I'm no longer able to grok umpteen pages per minute.....
Like a flat marionette, figures articulated by loose rivets or 'document tags' through limb joint centres.
Sorta Georgian / Victorian toys, often deployed via over-head projector / epidiascope.
( Kudos to site's spiel-chequer for recognising latter as valid word !!!)
So, WTF were such flat, articulated figures called ??

My Seasonal 'Flu vaccination booster spawned a long, long night of bizarre 'fevre dreams', including a really strange costume party-.
Some-where between saucy 'Hole in Board', 'Theatrical Flat' and 'Sandwich Board', for Alice and Card Figures...
Set me to thinking, 'How could you do that for real ???'...
What are these articulated figures called ??
