Perhaps, but I don't think I want another round of nightmare fuel, thanks....

Me either, for that matter…

Maduro’s plane has been seized by American authorities and flown to Florida…

OOC: True!

The US should seize the oil tankers that go to Veracruz and keep the Mexican Regime fueled.

The Venezuelan version of Air Force One is one thing, tankers that are probably flagged somewhere other than those nations are something else entirely. If we were to try, it could be called state-sponsored piracy…

Quite so. Now, as for the plane? If Maduro wants it back, well, there are still some fugitives from justice hiding in Caracas. A suitable trade can be arranged if he wants it bad enough.
The difference between diplomacy and war is this: Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell so elegantly that they pack for the trip.
War is bringing hell down on that someone.

Tell that to the Netherlands, we do random inspections on ships leaving Venezuela, Venezuela in return does the same and what remains of their air force and navy that still operate do daily exercises into Netherlands waters, but are quickly reminded not to push to hard, here is a picture taken today that shows 50 % of the Caribbean Squadron.

- Frigate/Destroyer HNLMS Tromp (F803)
- Patrol Ship HNLMS Holland (P840)
- Support ship HNLMS Pelikaan (A804)
- Cutter Jaguar (P810)
- AW139 Helicopter

Yep and they have grown sins Iran supplied them with torpedo boats and missile boats, they form the majority of the navy sins the larger ships are not active anymore.

They tend to enter Netherlands waters, hang around just long enough to see one of the Caribbean Squadron ships trying to intercept them and head as fast as they can back to their water.

Then why don’t the Dutch ask for assistance from, say, the Brits?

Pride, if the Royal Netherlands Navy ask the British ore the Americans for help, then it would look like the Netherlands cannot handle this by themselves, there might start questions in the Netherlands parliament over why we keep such a large military presences on the islands if we need other country to help us.

Of course the Netherlands works with the British and Americans in Anti-Drug operations in the Caribbean so it is not they are not there, it just we have is islands closest to Venezuela.

Pride goeth before a fall, Lordroel. Besides, the Dutch and British militaries are, or were, pretty close…

Boss-Ma'am would probably don an eye patch, have a parrot on her shoulder, and cheerfully hoist the Jolly Roger if you pointed that out.

Why do I hear Samuel Lodge laughing his ass off in the afterlife?

Probably because Sophie and Kathy B are, in their own way, Sam Lodge's daughters.

I'm evoking the Matt helm rule. Has anyone checked his grave to make sure his body is still there?

I'm also willing to consider he's been reincarnated.

One thought: did the Soviet Military Power publications stop, did they continue in a wartime mode, or were they replaced by a wartime-only publication series dedicated to telling America's story of the war?
