Just to let you all know....

Post by shermpotter »

So, my life of late has been...interesting, in the Chinese sort of way. We have been struggling with my 86 year old mother in law, with her ending up in a nursing home. Then, in June, we discovered that my eldest son (he's 38) has leukemia. So, we have been dealing with that and all that entails. It's AML and he at least has a great attitude, even if so much of this could have been avoided by going to the doctor months ago when he started feeling unwell. And his wife is no help, in fact she is a hindrance. My wife and I have shouldered most of this burden both financially and spiritually, and we are tired. To top it off, I badly damaged my knee at work. So life is just a peach here.

Sorry, but I had to let off some steam. Any prayers and positive thoughts are welcomed.

I feel your pain...we took mother-in-law back to the PI on Thanksgiving. Since then she's had 2 heart attacks and covid as a minimum. She's currently in the hospital with chest pain and respiratory issues, mentally she's ready to go but her youngest daughter isn't ready to let her go. Two weeks ago we lost the female of our brother/sister pair of Lasa Aoso's to leukemia. The brother is still a bit depressed.

No need to apologize whatsoever. We’ve all been there where we had to be a rock for people going through stuff, and it’s considerably easier to be that rock if you have an outlet to vent the stuff you have to suppress around the people you’re rocking for.

Tom, I know about your son from your FB posts but wasn’t aware that his wife was making life awkward. I’m so sorry to hear that you’re clearly having to do double duty coping with that whilst supporting Lance.

For what it’s worth, you have all of our love and best wishes.

I’m terribly sorry to hear this, life has a way of really sticking it to us at times. Best of luck, and hoping that you’ll see improvements on all fronts soon.
