Naval Gazing Meetup New England

Post by bean »

I've spent the last 6 years or so running navalgazing.net, a blog mostly on naval history and battleships. And that has branched out into events. I did a meetup at Iowa last year, and this year, am heading to New England to visit Battleship Cove and Groton at the beginning of May. If you're interested in coming, details are at https://www.navalgazing.net/Naval-Gazin ... gland-2024. There will be cool ships, great company and amazing food.

Bean,

I wish I could make it - Naval Gazing is an exceptionally well done site, and it would be a blast to meet you and some of the other regulars. Please hoist one for me, and hopefully you can make it to Patriot's Point and the Hunley some day.

Thanks for your kind words, and I definitely do want to make it to Patriot's Point and Hunley eventually.

Maybe you can make next year, as I'm planning to do Iowa again.

Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to, paying for college has reared its ugly head, and unless I win the lottery (unlikely since I rarely play) I am going to have to decline.

I do appreciate your site. Its a very nice source of info and a way to kill some time while I'm waiting for the contractor to get off his ass and do something. Please keep up the good work!

That he is, and I would love to have him. Unfortunately, I can't PM him, because I'm still probationary.

To be clear, I'm not really trying to pressure anyone here to go (I save that for a few people who are core NG regulars), and mostly figured we might have a couple people in that corner of the country who would be interested.

In a lot of ways, that's what I'm aiming for, and I plan to keep at it, at least when I'm not distracted doing math about Aurora.
