I was thinking, if this ever came to fruition (CETB), would not the best deployment for Canada be back in NORTHAG, perhaps to cover the Belgian sector?

Especially since there is now a French-led SOUTHAG and the Belgians' sector was a bit iffy in terms of fighting strength with only two divisions immediately available.

Good one. Shoudn't they have their equivalent of POMCUS sites somewhere near or behind the French border?

I will post the page regarding U.S. formations…
II MEF would stage through the UK coming in via Liverpool (port) and Manchester (airfield).
UK was also set to stage 9 IND but by 1989 they were informed that the 9th would go direct to a BALTAP. The PA ARNG’s 28IND was due to stage thru the UK but the U.S. wasn’t giving the MOD definite plans so the Brits were preparing for a generic U.S. Inf Div.

I have so far found nothing other than what I posted in regards to Canada or why they wanted a site in the UK. I do not know if it was lack of facilities in the FRG or there was some thought of moving 4 CMBG/1 CANDIV to NORTHAG which would make more sense having the CETB in the UK.
