Based on the famous 'The Captains Speak', Kirk's travels were actually so uneventful, the embedded documentary crew partook of too much Romulan Ale while trying to contrive 'interesting' segments.
Also, please note there was no coverage, none, of Enterprise's Marine contingent: They [REDACTED] footage for operational reasons, or convinced the film crew that dissing them would have unfortunate consequences...
