MikeOk, this is a no shitter. I was doing my walkabout on the carrier where I was CMC. It was about 0300. I didn’t sleep much underway. Anyway, I’m walking around and run across the sounding and security watch sitting in a chair kind of slumped over.
I walk up behind him and tap him on the shoulder. He urgently sits ups, keeps his eyes closed and makes the sign of the cross and says “Amen.”
We both knew it was all bullshit but I had to give him points for originality. “Move along…” was all I could say as I shook my head. I miss the Navy.
