Ad Astra fillum

Post by warshipadmin »

This got 80 from the brown nosers and 40 from the audience on RT, I'm with the latter

Here's a few drunk observations, it is a terrible film. There are other issues, these are the main technical ones.

1g on moon
moon pirates
fall into crater of 8 seconds, they'd land at 120 mph. splat.
space monkeys
1g on mars

It would take 4 hours for the laser message to get to Neptune, and the same back
spaceships have hatches in the bottom.
in the space fight 2 scientists are sent in against a combat trained astronaut. During the fight a stage separates and the scientists are mysteriously thrown the length of the room, SuperBrad isn't.
Then the captain fires a pistol in the spaceship which luckily just pierces a cylinder of poison gas.
SuperBrad is able to calculate the orbital parameters needed to jump off the rotating antenna on LIMA to get back to Cerseus
when SuperBrad arrives he doesn't bother firing his jets, he prefers to crash into the space ship and tumble the length of it.

I'd almost forgotten just how bad that movie was. Reading this rekindles my desire to get those two hours of my life back.

"...these are the main technical ones."

That...
That is a truly rare collection of tech-bloopers, may yet earn a chrome-plated 'Rotten Tomato' "WTF ??"

And, sadly, is thus a fair match to the sci/tech awareness of general audience...
:( :( :(

Gravity was the previous record holder for lousy tech in a nice looking film.

While I wanted to love a film that features Rabid Norwegian Space Baboons, I too felt this was a load of pretentious schlock.

I stayed watching hoping it would get better....it didn't....learned my lesson though and walked out of the 2021 Suicide Squad after 20 minutes.
