Somewhere on You-Tube, there's a recent documentary about the US 'super-heavy-tank', technically an 'Assault Gun'. Those outer tracks' sponsons could be dismounted, linked together, towed by truck or 'tank'. The combo would then fit narrower access, weaker bridges etc. IIRC, took about ¾ hour to mount or dismount them...

Yay !!

Those sponsons: Considering the team had not done it before, I reckon they were learning on their feet...

If their A-frame crane had come in on a wider arc, would have knocked 10~~15 mins off business. Two such trucks, working from opposite sides, would make a 'production line'...
