Re: Looking for a museum reccomendation in San Diego
The good news is that the Maritime Museum and Midway are right next to each other. The "bad" news is that both have apparently expanded their exhibits quite a bit since I was last there (in 2004), so nowadays 5-6 hours is probably just about right to see one or the other. If your interest ...

Re: Drach does FRANKLIN
Interesting video and very good. Were any of the IJN carriers hit at Midway or elsewhere damaged similarly? Doubtless any IJN ship would have sunk within hours. I think Drach has done a video on USN vs IJN damage control. The issue wasn’t so much ships as crews and damage control philosophy. The US...

By that I mean launch and recover aircraft that actually had a mission other than testing ? Seems so. She was delivered to Brazil in early 2001 and served with the Braz...

I didn't see any such plume in a quick scan of easily-available photos online, so it looks like that may be down to the poor material condition of Our La...

Re: Archer
In the US I think it's on Hulu rather than Netflix. The early seasons (through about Season 6, say) were consistently very funny. IMO the show has lost most of its edge as time has gone on and the caricatures have evolved into characters. It really came to a head for me watching the most recent seas...

Happy belated birthday to the by far most * successful fighter of WW2 that flew 85 years and 7 days ago for the first time. * Provided the pilot was Finnish ...M. Becker, Indeed - it's my understanding that the Finnish-built variant - much lighter than the Brewster built aircraft - was a real screa...
