At the very least take good photos of them and stick em in an album before you "retire" them.

Re: Rideable Pigs
poor eyesight and lack of neck (to have vantage point for the head) could be major issues even if they were genetically scaleable to a x2 or x3 etc. In that getting the proper temperament and confidence feedback loop in that role that horses (and elephants to some degree) enjoy. I guess camels too. ...

Re: ...A Coup Against Comrade Stalin?....
Earlier convo elsewhere on same theme: reminds me of the immense difficulty Mao and CCP had with korean war PLA veterans, rehabilitating them back into normie life mao kind of didnt see is that way, given expenses needed to do that....so in essence he kept veteran loyalty with commisar groups and un...

Re: Gendered languages question
Off the bat, I would say "on" (one) probably easiest existing one to use if one doesnt want to use il or elle....it gets conjugated same way and doesn't imply any gender..it is a broad pronoun though and probably sounds weird since it often carries plural collective meaning like they/we et...

Re: Gendered languages question
as french speaker, i dont quite understand what you mean. As in with il/elle/on (he, she, one/you) pronouns and their conjugation? Nothing changes there, if one of those 3 feels/deemed unsuitable, I guess new ones can be made in whichever context When we say "gendered" language, it often r...

Re: Kailasa Temple at Ellora – The Shrine Carved from a Single Rock
At ajanta/ellora (having been there), I would say direct hewing would be easier, there isn't much easy logistics and flat land to lug hewn rock and deploy (for this size of complex anyway). Think lot of hills and river valleys etc since they are mountain ranges in the end. I guess that kind of thing...

Re: World Trade Disaster 9/11/2001 - Full Unreleased Tape - Between Two Towers
I remember heavy feeling of nauseous anger that day watching it....sickness to bottom of my stomach. It just comes back each time I see it, whether old or new footage....those pour souls in there especially....so I can't watch anymore, what is seared permanently in my memory is seared as it is. Then...

U.S. and Soviet Ship Design Practices, 1950-1980
I'm slowly working my way through it (and will be following up with deep read of the sources at end too). Stumbled across it in a deep dive I was doing regd the Sovremenny Destroyers and why they went with Steam Turbines rather than Gas Turbines. Anyway it may be of interest for the rest of you that...

Sometimes the cope spam (or parodying of the cope, its hard to tell) is even funnier than the memes.

Re: GOP Social Media Oopsie
Lada 2101 is a license-built Fiat 124, which was more or less the replacement for the 1100 you're thinking of. I say more or less because they also made the 128, which is visually very similar to the 124. Yup you are right. Looks like FIAT basically did fairly generous tooling contracts (given thei...
