You're welcomed.
While I have a mild interest in seeing that sight in person, I doubt I ever will.

Many many years ago I read “God is my co-pilot”, a first person account of the Flying Tigers in China during WW Eleven (jemhouston wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2026 9:26 pm You're welcomed.

Re: The Coolest Video Ever Shot on Everest
Once upon a time somebody built a hotel halfway up Everest (it is called Everest View 12900 ft). The idea was that rich tourists would fly in by helicopter, wander around looking at all the pretty mountains, have dinner, go to bed * have breakfast and fly out.
*the bit they missed was 'and die of altitude sickness'. From memory anything above 9000 ft you want a maximum daily altitude gain of 1500ft. Less is better. Rest days are even better.

Do a bit of the old blofeld retreat (OHMSS) I suppose conceptually.
There are acclimatization preparations you can do a week beforehand at ground level, live in some thermobaric gradually changed environment and all for a while....but that (or the inverse, O2 supply while you are there)....all takes away from the spontaneous convenient nature of it I guess.
