This is an interesting Youtube video where someone has taken the code from the 1993 3D shooter Doom and changed the value of the constant pi. The effects on the game are, erm, curious!

I watched this and my first thought was of the tankers going into the Hell dimension in Pantheocide.

Watched it also. Not the greatest speaker, but it was interesting.

Jem - You don't hang out with engineers much do you? That was positively oratorical compared with the usual powerpoint!

While I was at JSC, I did. Rule 1, never hand one a screwdriver. Rule 2, it's never their fault, it's always the tech's fault. Even when we followed the script or procedure, they gave us to the letter and by their direction.

I don't know about the software side, but I did hear on several occasions, they went to a university hiring event to hire hardware engineers. When the students heard what the salary and job were, they always laughed as they walk away.

Short answer, listening to him was the longest I've listened to an engineer without either failing asleep or getting sick to my stomach.

I've only watched the first 9 minutes, but I find it fascinating.

Update after I watch the rest.

I first thought this was about some Cthulhu Mythos story or clip.

Going to have a look after work, sounds interesting :)
