Matt, did EASTERN EXPRESS also drop Mark 60 CAPTOR (encapsulated torpedo) anti-submarine mines.

Yes, they did, along with mining the shipping routes from Vladivostok through the Kuriles to Kamchatka. Mainly the Kuriles for the anti-shipping mines. The channels used by Soviet subs got the CAPTORs.

Did the Soviets also do the same thing, i searched but found no Soviet version of CAPTORs.

They did, with Backfires from Alaska (Adak and Anchorage) going down to Seattle, the Mouth of the Columbia River (ships can sail upriver to Lewiston, ID), and even the SF Bay area with a reduced load. Soviet subs did minelaying as well-using old Whiskey and newer Foxtrot-class boats for that mission as they were expendable.

Can we use the OTL Sea Wolf class as a stand in for the Grayling-class nuclear-powered fast attack submarines (SSN).

I thought that was the IRL Virginia-class…

The first postwar submarine, Grayling and her sisters are a less expensive replacement for the cancelled SSN-21 class. They incorporated technologies developed for that program as well as wartime lessons learned; the different blocks have evolved over time but the basic design remains in production to this day. Construction is planned to accelerate as 688 class boats are retired.

Presumably SSN 774-799 were LOS ANGELES class to replace war losses?

You know it will be a World War IV story if it ever get made in this universe.

According to the USN Fact File, the Graylings were SSN-800 onward. That file is canon.
