Re: Art & Image Thread

Between 1985 and late 1986, the army’s contribution was built around a reinforced light infantry battalion. From late 1986 it was reduced to a single infantry company. At the same time the squadron of Phantom FGR.2 was reduced to a flight of 6 and late 4 aircraft. That would make sense, the 1980s w...

At least one Su-27 was found intact at Kelly AFB, Texas, after the liberation of San Antonio in 1988. One also believed to have been flown by a defector from Latvia to the UK sometime in 1987 or 1988.
Now that would be something, a Su-27 in British markings.

And only give him English Breakfast in the morning, Sunday roast with roast meat, vegetables, and Yorkshire pudding for lunch and Fish and chips for diner with only Bitter (beer) to wash it away.

October 1986, actually. One historian describes it as the Navy and Air Force deciding to return the favor for Puget Sound.

USS F-1 has been found

So it seems that USS F-1 lying on the seafloor a few miles from San Diego has been found. F-1 sank during a training accident in 1917 and is a war grave for the 19 crew who died in the 1917 accident. https://www.yahoo.com/news/american-submarine-lost-over-century-191400676.html https://s.yimg.com/ny...
