Popping back in to drop off a little present. About half of the Version 6.2 ratings threads were accessible via archive. Enjoy:

Re: Drake's Drum [Nicholas Sumner]
No need for apologies. And I agree, with the Royal Navy winning the battles in the Mediterranean and the amount of air power the Allies can bring into the theater, the best the Italians can really do is just delay the inevitable.

Aircraft 101 RCS Modeling [F-35/J-20/Su-57]
A blog called Aircraft 101 has published an interesting series of posts over the last year where they have modeled the radar scattering properties of different stealth fighters. Models have been completed for the F-35A, the J-20, and the Su-57, as well as for a clean configuration F-16A. This post o...

Re: Fall and Rise: An ISOT
The D-44 was only built to elevate up to 35 degrees, where most field pieces of the time were built to elevate up to 42 or 45 degrees. That's one key feature in allowing it to be built so much lighter. Judging by your gun's much longer range figures, I'd say it's better to err on the heavy side.

DE 25pdr A requirement developed in the early 1920s to replace the WW1 24pdr and 4.5" howitzer. This resulted in testing of a number of experimental weapons, including a 4.13" howitzer and a 3.7" field gun. The primary requirements were a range of 18,000 yards and a 'field weight'. C...

Re: The Moscow Criterion (insights from the Ukrainian War)
I don't know if that was ever really true in the first place, but it certainly isn't now. Moscow's population is as large as the next seven biggest cities put together (St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, and Chelyabinsk) and it vastly outweighs any other city in term...

Re: Guess where I am
I’ve seen Sabaton three times so far. I’m more of a casual fan but they’re the favorite band of one of my brothers, so we go to their shows whenever they come through. Always a blast. Managed to record a pretty decent video of Gott Mit Uns at one of them a few years ago. https://youtu.be/CgsZH_-w5gY

Re: SpaceX 2023
I'm no rocket scientist, but the whole concept of stacking up 33 little engines instead of building a few larger ones seems dodgy to me. Isn't that multiplying the odds of one of them experiencing a potentially fatal malfunction quite a bit?
