Re: The Last War: 370.

Depends on who is in charge, meaning that some local Soviet battery commander who got promoted because everyone experienced died might whip out the special shells for his guns in the face of a Thunder Run. And I expect the East German Leadership to demand escalation. For all that their Forces got ef...

Re: The Last War: 370.

In this war, a lot of Male Bovine Excrement told about the kit from both sides will be exposed, though given recent real world events, I suspect it's worse for the Soviets. That said, even a hint of western troops across the IGB might make someone in the WarPac leadership hit the escalation button, ...

Re: General Discussion Thread

I've seen a flowchart of the Trotskyite movement in the United States between the 1920s and the beginning of the war, and the amount of party splits, expulsions, refoundings and out of no-where entirely new groups is headache inducing. Safe to say, all these groups mutually hated each other too.

Re: COMING SOON....

With respect, but I'll pass, thank you. If I say that I've always hated Section 31 from the moment I first watched DS9 back in the day (No, it's not thirty years old, quit lying! :D) then that's an understatement. So yeah: I've always hated Section 31 as an idea and concept. It's born out of Ronald ...

That and the show. I can't speak to the English dub, but the German one really is that good.

Re: The Last War: 368.

The original Japanese animated movie(s) and GITS:SAC 1&2 are a million times better. Hell, they all have really good German dubs, as I found out when the show as a late-night item on MTV back in ye olden days.

Re: The Last War: 369.

Given that we're dealing with the Soviet Union, on top of it being wartime, I am not at all surprised that this was missed somewhere along the line.

Re: The Last War: 368.

I can only recommend the first anime series (i.e. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 1 and 2) as well. The second more recent one is hit and miss but worth checking out if the first one is to your liking. :)

Nice... Fighting is fierce, losses are heavy... hardly surprising given the circumstances. That said, Vienna has the potential to suck in the Swiss for good, given humanity's unending ability to accidentally or on purpose do stupid things. That said, the presence of the Japanese Major suggest secret...

Some things apparently never change... If you look back at the First and Second World War there are quite a number of examples of officers who were good commanders in peacetime, who were utterly unsuitable for wartime. Or, those who performed well until they were presented with something unex...

Sunk or not, the ultimate fate of the Iron Felix is going to be good for a fair few spy novels/movies of varying quality if/when this particular part of the story becomes public. Some house-cleaning at AFSOUTH looks like.... If deadwood needs cutting, do it and let the chips fall where they may. Som...
