I recall hearing the the Brits had to attach military nomenclature experts to US HQs in Normandy to 'translate' British to US military-ese.

My impression was that the committee took this seriously and will proceed to dig into the subject in closed hearings.

Oh yes I remember Gentlemen of England... The setup there was 2010s UK swapping with WW2 UK. Plus a bit of Brittany iirc. The story made a great start but petered out after a few episodes.
