The war in Ukraine is overly "depoliticised". That meaning, people exclusively look at it from a geopolitical lense. Often refusing to acknowledge internal political developments within Ukraine, and mainly applying theories of geopolitics that I believe can be incredibly misleading. One of these is realism as advocated by john Mearsheimer. And in this video i would like to present you with some points arguing against the realist position on Ukraine.

However and at least he admits this, the bias is also strong with him.
The EU is not 'new' and doesn't solve a lot of problems European nations have.
If anything it repeats the failings of treating nations as irrelevant and this more than anything else is it's likely nemesis.

British influence in India isn't a simple story of conquest and Empire for example.

Geography certainly dictates certain states as likely to arise, but were it doesn't, culture, religion and language exert their influences on nations and states existence.

The missing piece is the concept of accepting a states independence. Some Powers have concluded it's not necessary and even counterproductive to force their 'chips' to obey. A lesson that seems to have to be relearned because theorists don't promote such a practical approach.
