Thoughts and prayers please. . .
My niece, Nicole, is in full blown liver failure. I will be tested as a possible donor. Not sure yet of details, dates, etc., but prayers are greatly appreciated.

Oh, that's terrible news. Best of luck with it. I hope a matching donor is able to be found rapidly.

Re: Thoughts and prayers please. . .UPDATE
Nicole has hemochromatosis, too much iron in her blood, and has damaged her liver. They say they can treat it, for now, but a liver transplant will eventually be needed, time frame depending on how well she responds to treatment. I am not a potential donor, liver donors have to be between 18 and 60 and not have any issues with any organs. I'm 68, and have heart issues and diabetes. She is being put on the waiting list, if a match comes up she will be offered the option. She has 1 full blood sister, Sherry, if it comes down to it Sherry would be the most likely match. Her mother is deceased, and my brother is almost 80, so parents are out.
Thanks to one and all for the thoughts and prayers, please keep them coming.
