1/72 O-1E Bird Dog....

Something a little different: the Airfix 1/72 O-1E Bird Dog forward air controller. 54 year old kit, and the fit/parts show it. But it was still fun; added wingtip lights and landing light cover, plus some of the original decals even worked.
Mr. Charles hated that little airplane; he knew that when the sound of that engine appeared that the United States, in its power and vengeance, was inbound. They served USAF, USMC, and US Army, and they were highly respected for their skill, accuracy, and courage.
They also paid for that courage: 469 O-1s were lost in combat.
