Not sure why the Eagle driver would get the callsign. Unless your guy’s seat selectors work a lot differently than ours, the pilot cannot eject the rear seat without also leaving a fraction of a second later. The rear seat dude absolutely can eject himself though while leaving the pilot OR ejecting both.
So it should be the back seater who gets the entertaining callsign.
Of course, callsigns aren’t always “deserved”.
Passengers ejecting themselves has been done a few times. I can recall a couple of USN events. One was an NFO student at Pensacola in VT-10 a few months before I got there. (The board decided that duties not involving flight operations would be the best career path for the student). Another was a cruiser skipper getting a fam flight prior to deployment. He DID get an entertaining callsign, although I don’t recall what it was.
He could be a great recruiter for the ANGMikeKozlowski wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 12:07 pmNightwatch,Nightwatch2 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 15, 2025 10:19 pmOoops!MikeKozlowski wrote: ↑Fri Aug 15, 2025 5:21 pm ...I feel sorry for the poor Eagle Driver, who is now going to get an entirely new and unflattering call sign.

IIRC the pax was a ANG Recruiting officer - he's going to get a callsign all right, and a change of career fields PDQ.

And he's already been immortalized in song:

....All humor aside, the pax was fortunate in another way - there have been serious issues and at least one death due to substandard/counterfeit parts issues in the ACES II supply chain. I hate to think what we'd be talking about if he'd have ridden the seat back down.Micael wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 5:28 pm This is a second video that appears to show the actual ejection:

Oh, that was NOT a good landing. I wouldn't be surprised if he blew his knees out.Micael wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 5:28 pm This is a second video that appears to show the actual ejection:

More like a lot, I don't think he was properly braced, because he came down like a sack of potatoes.Nightwatch2 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 12:39 amAnd a little spinal compressionPoohbah wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 10:36 pmOh, that was NOT a good landing. It depends a lot on the circumstances, and especially how much of his fate was his fault.MikeKozlowski wrote: ↑Sat Aug 16, 2025 7:29 pm....All humor aside, the pax was fortunate in another way - there have been serious issues and at least one death due to substandard/counterfeit parts issues in the ACES II supply chain.
