The Mod Team has expanded…

Given that we now live in “interesting times”, I’m conscious that extra effort has been and will be needed to keep this place relatively stable.

Accordingly, please welcome Jotun into the Mod Team.

I am aware that there might be a pair or six of rolling eyes at this piece of news.

Let me just say that

0) I was approached for this job, I did NOT seek it out
a) I did take several days to think about it, especially since my view of things and that of other, more conservative members of this board are quite far apart from each other
b) I have a lot of practise in applying the neutrality principle as a German civil servant, so rest assured that I will NOT censure members for merely stating their views, no matter how much I may disagree with those. I will, however,
c) sound off whenever there are things like mass murder fantasies and racist slurs being bandied about and when there is outright name calling among members
d) I will also endeavor to exercise my new "powers" as little and as constructively as possible
e) Which also means I will dial back my vitriol when discussing the T47 administration and any other controversial topic

That said, I feel honored to having been given this function on this board.
