Honestly I haven't watched a superbowl in years, I've gradually lost interest. But I did watch the final few minutes of this one.
I'm reminded that when Buster Douglas fought Mike Tyson, Don King knew his judges would have Tyson winning no matter what.
But then Buster Douglas knocked Tyson out.
Congratulations Eagles. You just made the next year in sports a bit more bearable. Try not to burn down the entire city.

Seen elsewhere.
Since USAID got shut down, the Chiefs couldn't afford refs.

Being a Giants fan, I cared nary a fig for the outcome of the game.
That being said, it was the most entertaining Superbowl in probably at least a decade, as the Eagles defensive line put on a master class in how to shut down the opponents offence.
Here's a few stats.
6 sacks
hit/hurried/pressured on more than 50% of drop backs
caused 3? (I think) fumbles, recovered 1
Defensive backs got 2 interceptions as a result of the above, one returned for a touchdown
The Eagles defensive line did this without blitzing a SINGLE time. They effectively shut down the run as well, until garbage time at the end of the 4th quarter. This performance by their defensive line men is unheard of.
Its too bad that the people who awarded the MVP couldn't give it to a group. The defensive line was more valuable than Hurt, as the defense was ahead of the Chiefs until garbage time.
