Sir Michael Jackson RIP

Retired General Sir Michael David Jackson GCB, CBE, DSO, DL died on 15 October aged 80.

Most notable for risking his career to say no to General Wesley Clark over blocking Priština Airport then grabing a bottle of whiskey and having a chat with the Russian commander.
Blair backed him up, persuaded Clinton to put Clark on a leash and we didn't get into a shooting war with Russia.

He looked the part, he sounded the part and frankly he was the real deal of traditional British Army top brass.

RIP. He was the real deal. And capable of drinking everyone under the table to boot- frankly I’m amazed he made it to 80.

Some people just have good genes.

RIP, Sir Michael.

I have never heard nor read of a single reference to Sir Michael that was less than absolutely honorable and respectful. RIP , and kick Wes Clark's ass when he gets there.

There's been a lot of social media noise coming out of Ireland that's absolutely crowing over his death. He was adjutant of 1 Para on that day in January 1972 and that's enough to make him worse than Satan. So it's not entirely well thought and considered comment on his death.

With a voice like he’d been chewing gravel for 40 years straight… not far from the truth really!

I've a few things on X like one regretting to see him at war crime trial. Sickening.

Probably dusted off a rather old bottle of whiskey from the store room at Fiddler's Green when he walked through the door.

It's rather nice when vile people self-identify themselves.
