Interesting video on the production of the shell casings for 155mm guns at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant. Unlike the last video posted, this isn't from two different plants.

What's interesting is the automation. There's some more that can be done, but it looks fairly up to date. Most of the hands touching the shells look like they're in the packing and shipping department.

TBH it looks like they've only robotised the high hazard areas (presses and furnaces), the rest is bog standard stuff as could be found in any bottling plant for the last hundred years. That's what I would do given the constraints they are operating within (CAPEX for a whole new plant would be really hard to justify), but I'd like to have seen quite a bit less manual handling of the shells at various points.
