Rare Wargame Update: 'BATTLEWAGON'...

Post by MikeKozlowski »

Our clancyfan made a post on the HPCA Facebook page from the Wargame Vault at Amarillo Design Bureau, home of Star Fleet Battles. There is a starship's worth of game additions and Captain's Logs available, all on downloadable PDFs - but the real treat for me was ADB's BATTLEWAGON.

Imagine a naval combat game using the SFB system.

I KNOW, RIGHT????? :D :D :D :D :D :D

It covered (officially) WWI through WWII, and IIRC only CL, CA, and BB/BC. But it was as adaptable to homebuilt designs as SFB is, and not only did we get destroyers, frigates, and other auxiliaries in there, we were playing with CVs and aircraft using the SFB shuttle rules. Even better was that it turned out to be fairly adaptable to solitaire play, while good sized fleet actions were also doable, albeit with the paperwork issues SFB was burdened with.

Anyways, it's not going to get purchased this weekend, Real Life(TM) has a prior call on all my available budget. But in a month or so.... :D
