Swedish destroyers short film from 1965

Post by Micael »

This is a ten minute long short film that depicts a Swedish destroyer flotilla (with destroyers and torpedo boats) training to attack an invading fleet. The narration is unfortunately only in Swedish without subtitles, but I think that there’s a lot of interesting footage, both exterior and interior, and towards the end there’s footage of multiple weapons systems firing which is pretty neat. The shots of the anti-ship missiles launching are particularly noteworthy, only ships in the west with operational anti-ship missiles at this point in time.

 Yep. (It translates as ”ship alarm”. The tone sequence pressed is the Swedish navy one for action stations.)
