I almost posted the link and asked how close it was to the game (which I never have played).Jotun wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 8:39 pm SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I played every damn Fallout game since the very first one, 27 years ago, except for the abomination that is Fallout 76. I also played Wasteland, its spiritual forebear, 36 years ago. The retro futurism (the stuffiness of the preserved Fifties comes across very strikingly), the alternate history, the whole atmosphere and the wild humor are still one of a kind.jemhouston wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 9:06 pmI almost posted the link and asked how close it was to the game (which I never have played).Jotun wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 8:39 pm SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I take it you like it?
For some reason, it appeals to me.
Sone of the splatter effects in the later games were "defused", thanks to our ridiculous youth protection law. Back when games were sold on physical storage media, I always took care to buy the original version. Things have improved a bit in the meantime.Drunknsubmrnr wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 5:47 pm We have to see a Deathclaw in action.
Were the German versions watered down? I heard a rumor at the time that certain aspects were nerfed.

Concur. Started watching it last night, and it rocks. A very game-style setup, and everybody looks to be having a ball - especially Walton Goggins as The Ghoul* , who is sufficiently evil to make a Sith Lord step back and say, "Dude....."
Ass jerky don’t make itself
Neither was I, but a short haired female-looking person with a thin mustache (the character who had the razor blade in the boot) was something even I picked up on. The BOS tech priest (the correct term escapes me at the moment) even used "they".Simon Darkshade wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 7:08 am The issue with the NCR is that the fall of Shady Sands is put down as 2276 or 77, when FNV takes place in 2281. A simple enough issue to resolve by just saying that the Vault wasn’t 100% accurate. The related issue of New Vegas looking trashed/sacked in the final scenes is also not necessarily a problem, given the time gap from 2281-2296.
Letting it fester isn’t a great option, but nor is jousting with the fan base. For me, it doesn’t subtract from an excellent series.
Didn’t notice any transsexual stuff, but I wasn’t looking for it.
Oh, I absolutely concur, although the guy having a date with Rosy Palm did not even merit a raised eyebrow. My only thought was "There are toilet stalls for that kind of stuff…or at least wait until dark."Simon Darkshade wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 7:47 am I wasn’t watching that section with a great deal of attention, as it was obviously just the set up for the BoS squire to get out in the field. Even when I get to rewatching it, from the description you give (which I have no cause to doubt), it won’t be a Fundamental Message Injection of the strength/intensity that makes a show awful. To be honest, the brief shot of the BoS squire engaging in onanism in the crowded barracks in the middle of the day was a bit more jarring.
Compared to The Wheel of Time, Rings of Power and other recent modern dross, this series is in the corner of the angels with the recent Dune films.
