SIG 7.62x51 NATO Hybrid

So I see that SIG has got an interesting 7.62 round out:

The data is from the manufacturer of course, but if it is correct it looks like an upgrade over a standard round. Both in terms of trajectory, penetration, and weight. No idea what it costs though.

What do you guys think?

It would have to be something vaguely along the lines of a +P version but still one that can be fired by existing 7.62*51/.308 rifles because if not, might was well get a 6.5 Creedmoore if you need a new rifle. Or modify it quite a bit.

A more sensible approach to defeating body armor than 6.8*51?
