Today 23 Sept 2023 is the end of the last pay period of my full time employment. My last working day was last Wednesday, I took sick of work days for Thursday and Friday. Preferring a cash payout I've sold back my accrued leave for a nice chunk of change. The only firm plans for the near term include a model contest in southern Maryland, another trip to visit with mom and a Thanksgiving trip back to the PI for an extended period. Intentions beyond that are fluid but intentions include more regular workouts, volunteer work with the VFW, and preparations for the International Plastic Modelers Society annual convention in 2025 in Hampton, VA.

Congratulations. I've been retired since May, and promptly stuffed my feet so we haven't been able to get away. Anyway that is all better now and I'm deciding where to go snorkelling in the Pacific. Cook Islands is looking good, we've been to Vanuatu already, so it is a toss up also between Fiji, New Caledonia and Bali.

Retirement is when you wake up with nothing to do and you're behind schedule before noon.

congratulations - i pulled that lever last spring. This past summer was the best summer Ive had in 40 years. After 5 months Im finding my life so full of fun things to do. My guess is that you will find the same.
