Murphy's Law...

So, I got a couple of new IPCAMs to replace my old WANSCAMs.

I'm using them 'wired', as our walls 'eat' WiFi.

The IPCAMs' Windows' UI must be initially configured via QR codes from printed sheet (supplied).

But, my CAD_Tower has neither QR-enabled camera nor QR scanner. ( I've a long-boxed bar-code scanner against need... )

So, I ordered in a budget QR scanner: USB 'plug & play', easy-peasy.

However, it, too, came with a 'configuration' sheet, which was so badly printed / copied that even multiply redundant QR format failed to scan...

Snarky Polite query sent to supplier...

{ Shakes head... }

Supplier responded in timely manner.
Reading between the lines, their tech-guy could not find any whatsit in stock with a 'fully readable' sheet.
Certainly, as yet, they cannot get a down-load link from maker.
So, apologies, they'll try again after weekend...

Supplier unable to source the necessary configuration data-sheet, I'm being sent an apology and refund...

WTF ????

It's only $_10, but supplier was unable to put a legible configuration sheet into box, find legible document in stock or obtain a down-load...

Before I order similar model from another supplier, I've asked them to check for valid sheet in box or on-line...
To be sure, to be sure...

FWIW, I was so astonished and infuriated by this debacle that I spotted latent flaw in current, too-slowly progressing WIRS chapter, was able to tear into it, re-arrange to make more sense, spin-off a chunk as start of next chapter...
So that's #9_14 belatedly resolved, #9_15 begun...
As Kath observed, I could be remarkably eloquent when riled: She could deploy her dreaded 'Wrath of Kath', leave scorched outlines, but I'd take my foot out of my mouth and quietly, politely, yet implacably convince people to do the whatever our way...
