Wildfire smoke photos from DC

The Canadian wildfire smoke is causing considerable issues for us in the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast US. Here in the DC area, it's pretty miserable to be outside for any stretch of time. I can't imagine how bad it can be in New York or New England.
My wife, who's a professional tour guide took the following from the Washington Monument, looking east down the National Mall. Notice what's missing the shot?
Normally, the US Capitol is very prominent in this shot.
I took the next one across the Potomac River from the LBJ Grove, which sits near the Pentagon north parking lot. The Washington Monument is about a 1/2 mile away. This spot is where we love to watch the 4th of July fireworks.
Everyone affected stay safe.
